Open Monumentendag: rondleiding in het ENGELS

For this special day, the Library is offering its guided tour in English. For non-native speakers, this is an unique opportunity to discover all there is to know about this iconic building.The english speaking guide takes you on a tour in this more than hundred years old building by architect Joseph Crouwel. It used to be a post office but it's transformed into a public library by Zecc Architects. What are all those gargoyles doing so high up on the facade? And what's the idea behind the tall bluestone world sculptures in the historic Library Hall? On these tours, you will learn all the ins and outs of the building - from guides who know it inside and out.

In het kader van Open Monumentendag biedt de Bieb haar rondleiding ook in het Engels aan. Voor anderstaligen is dit de unieke kans om alles over dit iconische gebouw te leren. Wat doen die spuwende dierenkoppen hoog boven de voorgevel? En wat is de gedachte achter de metershoge hardstenen wereldbeelden in de iconische hal van de Bieb? Tijdens de rondleiding leer je alle ins en outs over het gebouw van gidsen die het gebouw door en door kennen.
