The DigiTalk is an interactive lecture given by John Lewis. This lecture will include an introduction to AI and will focus on showing where existing AI is and what can be done with AI. John Lewis will give interactive examples of what you can do with creative AI while explaining how LLMs work (such as ChatGPT) and how it has developed over the past two years. In the last half hour, attendees will be given links and information to further explore on their own laptops. Bring your own laptop!

John Lewis is a seasoned technologist with over 45 years of experience in the computer industry. As the founder of Liminal Game Studios and Liminal Group, he is at the forefront of integrating AI, especially LLMs, into video games. Having served as a CTO in NYC and programmed in over ten computer languages, John recently moved to Utrecht, Netherlands, aiming to give back by educating the public about AI’s potential.

De DigiTalk is een interactieve lezing (in het Engels) gegeven door John Lewis. Deze lezing bevat een introductie tot AI en laat zien waar bestaande AI zich bevindt en wat er met AI gedaan kan worden. John Lewis zal interactieve voorbeelden geven van wat je kunt doen met creatieve AI, terwijl hij uitlegt hoe LLM werkt (zoals ChatGPT) en hoe het zich de afgelopen twee jaar heeft ontwikkeld. In het laatste half uur krijgen de deelnemers links en informatie om verder op onderzoek uit te gaan op hun eigen laptop. Neem je eigen laptop mee!

Dit programma is een onderdeel van het UITfeest, de start van het culturele seizoen in Utrecht. Op verschillende plekken in de stad is het op zaterdag 7 september feest met muziek, dans, theater en nog veel meer. Ook in de Bieb laten we zien wat je komend jaar kunt verwachten.
